Keep Fit, Run a Marathon

Sports entertainment, Gaborone half marathon has recognized running as to sport as playing the piano is to music and its essential building block for many spatting activities from football to cricket.

The sport next Gaborone half marathon will take place around mid-year of 2017 according to Sports Entertainment Managing Director, Nobantu Sebonego . She stated that they are expecting a great number of volunteers for their 2017 marathon due to their aim at raising awareness on Women’s abuse issues by partnering up with Kagisano Society Women’s Shelter. Their vision is to end gender based violence in Botswana through the provision of temporary shelter, counseling, community education and outreach on gender based violence and advocacy and they believe they would receive a positive response from the Batswana to support victims of women abuse.

This year’s marathon was held on the 19th of June, it started from Airport Junction shopping center. It consisted of three races, 21k, 10k, and 5k.

Running is a cheap and requires no special skills, equipment or organization with team mates. It is an especially efficient way to increase fitness. The following are in fact some of the health benefits of running; lower levels of body fat and obesity, improved immune system and lower risk of heart disease and stroke.
