HEALTHY FOOD HABITS

By Shamir Kapoo

CREATING HEALTHY FOOD HABITS FOR YOUR FAMILY . The importance of family meals cannot be overemphasized, studies reveal that the number of meals families enjoy together are declining due to use of convenience meals and with issues of work and time management it has come to a point where families eat their meals in front of the television.
Anyone who has a family will agree that being part of that small society is great but the greatest challenge amongst our little gang is the small one when it comes to their nutrition and eating habits.
Children below the age of five are still exploiting their world through their senses, nutrition can improve the functions of these senses which needs constant stimulation to fully develop their full potential.

Toddlers don’t always know the  difference between playing for fun or for education, however the first mistake parents make is bark or slap the child ‘eat your food!’ when caught playing with foods. Helping you around the kitchen and playing around with food exposes them to various textures and actions, after all, play is the best lecture.
